Y102.5FM storms Accra with YUNPLUGGED

The number one urban radio station in Kumasi, Y102.5 FM has begun a new campaign dubbed the Y Unplugged. This campaign is driving at introducing exciting contents while revamping existing content on the show.
The host of the Ryse N Shyne show at Y Kumasi, Ebenezer Donkor, popularly known as NYDJ and the Programmes Manager of Y Kumasi, Nathaniel Osei Kuffuor, made an appearance on the Late Nite Celebrity Show to speak on the Y Unplugged.
Nathaniel Osei Kuffuor, commenting on what the Y Unplugged entails, stated: ‘Y Unplugged is more about bringing in a much more refreshing, funky, exciting, uniquely different and urban radio within our metropolis. Already, we dominate. We have been there for five years and we just want to stamp our authority on the whole urban field.
It is much more about some new content and additions and some new presenters joining the fun family and letting the country know that Y Kumasi is a stronger force. When you are talking radio, top of mind, it should be YFM. We are introducing much more exciting content. For example, there is wake N Bake on YFM Accra but we are yet to activate it on Y Kumasi this Saturday”.
On his part, NYDJ expressed his satisfaction and excitement at the Y Unplugged campaign stating that the experience from the inception of YFM until now has been a “beautiful experience”.
“Five years with YFM has been amazing. Looking at where I came from to trying to get a whole new experience. Initially, people said that an urban station like YFM won’t pick up in Kumasi. It was a big challenge but our determination or our goal was to prove all the naysayers wrong. So we started with our own challenges, technicalities, our presenters, and on-air activations. In the first year, people thought it was just hype. Because we had a vision, we kept going back and forth. Now if you mention YFM in Kumasi, there is no car that does not listen to YFM. Gradually, top of the mind if you mention music and entertainment YFM comes to mind. That means that we have reached the target we set. For five years, it has been a beautiful experience. There have been lessons we have learnt that coming together into the unplugged and moving forward, we know that if we face any of the previous problems, we can easily face it. We know how to overcome it. People are beginning to feel the excitement already”.
