YFM revives rap culture with ‘Rapture’

Ghana’s hip radio brand Y107.9FM is set to take the country back in time to revive its rap culture and unearth new talent under the ‘Rapture’ reality talent show.
‘Rapture’ which is beautifully and creatively coined from source words Rap + Culture and Future will be driven by Y107.9FM’s Dryve of Your Lyfe show.
In keeping the rap culture alive, ‘Rapture’ will also provide a phenomenal opportunity for Hip-hop to shine.
Having the ability to spit some sick bars and flow with precision on the dopest ‘Rapture’ beat is the only criteria required for one to sign up for the rap battle.
The entrant who reigns supreme stands the chance of winning a cash prize of Ghc5,000, work with the dopest sound engineers in the country and live the dream of every Hip-hop artiste.
Speaking about the reality show was Programmes Manager for Y107.9FM, Eddy Blay Jr said: “Rapture is special to us not only because we are bringing the essence and fragrance back to our rap culture but because it is happening right within our 13 year anniversary and promises to be an amazing ride. Rapture is set to elevate our rap culture to the next level”.
Eddy Blay Jr shared that the winner of this contest is set to get one of the grandest prizes in reality show history; “a worldwide distribution deal with Crux Global and it only gets better from there”.
He urged interested persons to send in their entries from May 18 to June 8.
To be a part of the reality talent show, interested persons are required to register and download a produced Rapture beat from www.yfmghana.com and submit a video (1minute) freestyle on the beat and upload on social media using the tag @y1079fm @y1025fm @y979fm and hashtag #FU60Challenge.
