Sensational Nigerian reggae-dancehall artiste, Patoranking has hailed radio brands in Ghana, most importantly the country’s foremost urban radio brand, YFM for holding him down from his genesis.

The musician who arrived in Ghana to pursue university degree ended up pursuing and developing his music career.

He admitted his musical journey was not smooth, with many casting doubts on him.

The performer speaking to Kojo Manuel on Y107.9FM’s ‘Dryve of Your Life’ show, said, “YFM was the first radio station I heard myself on. There was a rhythm playing and I remember vividly. I remember so much and how I heard myself somewhere between 2009 and 2010.”

Since that time, level ‘don change give Patoranking’ as he has risen to be one Africa’s biggest musical exports.

Patoranking remained hopeful, prayerful and never thought of giving up in his career. He advises young artistes to be patient and nurture their careers as he knows they will make it but the when is always the question.
