YFM’s flagship drive time programme, Dryve Of Ur Lyfe, has taken its influence beyond Ghana’s borders as its current host duo travel to the United States for the 2026 FIFA World Cup; marking another milestone in the show’s 18-year legacy of shaping youth culture, entertainment and urban radio excellence.
The internationally recognised programme, which airs weekdays from 3pm to 7pm on Y107.9FM in Accra, continues to dominate Ghana’s drive time listening belt as one of the most influential radio shows in the country. First launched 18 years ago, the show has evolved through several respected presenters and DJs over the years including urban radio pioneer Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong (Nokus) and DJ Champagne and remains one of Ghana’s most decorated radio programmes; winning multiple industry awards almost every year since its inception.
Currently, the show is steered by its first ever all-female host pairing, Princess AJ, Ghana’s leading female entertainment MC and hype personality, and DJ Kess, an award-winning DJ widely recognised for her consistency, creativity and contribution to Ghana’s urban music culture. Their presence on the show marks a bold new era for YFM’s drive time leadership and youth engagement.
While the show dominates young audience preference in Accra, YFM’s regional strength remains unmatched, with Y102.5FM Kumasi hosted by AJ Mensah alongside DJ Bongo, and Y97.9FM Takoradi hosted by PM the Presenter with DJ Shyno; reinforcing a powerful nationwide network dedicated to youth entertainment, music and culture.
The duo’s trip to the United States is in partnership with Tribe Culture Fest, a global platform that merges sports, culture and tourism through curated festivals, fan experiences, youth programmes and cultural activations around major global events. As official host and DJ, Princess AJ and DJ Kess are expected to headline and support Tribe Culture Fest’s cultural events connected to the World Cup festivities.
Their participation has been made possible through Tribe Culture Fest and YFM’s official travel partner, Ocean Bells.
According to the Director of Broadcasting at YFM, Dr. Timothy Karikari; “as a brand that has spent 18 years shaping youth culture, music and entertainment in Ghana, we value platforms like this that give our talent global exposure. Dryve Of Ur Lyfe is not just a radio show; it is a cultural institution. Seeing Princess AJ and DJ Kess take that energy to an international stage reflects exactly what YFM stands for; excellence, consistency and youth influence without borders.”
YFM continues to position itself as Ghana’s number one youth radio brand; leading in English-language urban radio, youth programming and contemporary music culture across the country. From Accra to Kumasi and Takoradi, the network remains a dominant force in shaping conversations, sound and lifestyle for Ghana’s youth.
