You Can No Longer Automatically Post Tweets To Facebook

Following an update to its API on August 1, Facebook no longer allows users to publish Tweets and Retweets on its platform automatically.
If you were one of the people who used to post your Tweets to your Facebook account automatically, you’re out of luck. Facebook has announced that it has deprecated its Publish actions permissions from its API, effectively shutting down auto-posting from Twitter and around 60,000 other apps.
After Facebook’s action, Twitter’s support team also announced that the feature was no longer available on its platform.

We’ve learned that Tweets and Retweets will no longer automatically post to connected Facebook accounts due to a recent Facebook update.

Don’t worry, you have other ways to share a Tweet 😁https://t.co/fiwInkuyz7

Facebook confirmed the reason was its decision to deprecate the Publish actions permission feature, effective from August 1. Anyone wanting to post their content automatically to Facebook will now have to use Facebook’s Share dialogs that are available on iOS, Android, and the web.
The deprecation is not that sudden, as it was announced in April, as a result of Facebook’s cleanup of appsrunning amok on its platform, but it may have caught quite a few users off-guard. Facebook also gave some apps an extension so as to update soon. Access to its API was also removed from many other apps that have been inactive, and this may cause a headache for some developers.
The change shouldn’t change much for experienced social media users (i.e. you, dear reader) as you should know by now that cross-posting isn’t the most effective practice when trying to build a social media presence – or one on Facebook no less.
