Zinedine Zidane has outlined his demands having made it clear he is ready to become Chelsea’s next manager, according to reports.
Zidane, the former Real Madrid boss, wants to replace Maurizio Sarri in the Stamford Bridge dugout with the Italian under real pressure following a run of poor results.
The 46-year-old has three demands, including a £200million transfer budget to improve Chelsea’s squad, a new contract for Eden Hazard to keep the forward at Stamford Bridge, and to have a major say in recruitment – something Chelsea’s managers are rarely afforded.
Zidane, who won three successive European Cups while in charge of Real Madrid, also wants any money made from player sales to be added to the £200million budget he’s demanding.
Despite making clear his wish to become Chelsea manager, Zidane is not expecting to be given the job as he respects Sarri remaining in the position.
It is believed the Italian’s future at Stamford Bridge rests heavily on qualification for next season’s Champions League, with the Blues having to either finish in the Premier League’s top four or win the Europa League to book a place in Europe’s premier cup competition for 2019/20.
