2026 saw the return of 95ANTNY with his first single, “SLiDE”, released via HandwrittenRecords. This was his first offering of the year with two EPs planned for later. Now, “CAN’T IGNORE” is a precursor 3-pack mini EP containing “SLiDE” ahead of an extensive upcoming body of work.
Still leaning more into the overstimulation and emotional haze that aligns with the project to come, “CAN’T IGNORE” is yet another capture of moments when desire feels familiar enough to lean into even when history says otherwise. This 3-pack features twonew songs, title track “CAN’T IGNORE” and “BROWN EYES” with Ghanaian songstress Vawltaire.
In the alt R&B-ish swing bounce, “CANT IGNORE” carries the tension of being drawn toward someone your mind recognizes as wild, dangerous, and temporary, but still wanting a taste. The lyrics reveal the unspoken pull between two people: the quiet eye contact.
The pattern is familiar but attraction has its own pull. The repetition feels hypnotic fueling tension between curiosity and restraint, memory and impulse but the vibe leads and we follow. BROWN EYES offers an alluring delivery of feeling in a trance by someone’s eyes.
95ANTNY is one of Ghana’s rare breeds of alternative and experimental music, carvinganiche for the genre-defying sound. As a recording artist who doubles as a producer, his vocals sit pretty on varieties of genre blends, flowing easily through Chill Afro-fusion, RnB/Soul, and Alté experiments to affirm his versatile and unpredictable approach onany track. 95ANTNY’s identity is a reflection of his diverse and edgy range of artistry andoffers a full-circle experience to his listeners.
The end of 2021 saw him release his first single as 95ANTNY called “5STAR” which was well received by old fans as well as winning him some new. He then followed that upwith “less is more” in May 2022 which was accompanied by a cartoon-inspired visualiser. 95ANTNY ended that year with a collaboration with fellow Ghanaians: SuperJazzClubas well as Nigerian DJ: Kikelomo, with the party-inspired “3 in the Morning”, featuring leadvocals by him.
In 2023, 95ANTNY released “Biggo” a song with a heavy-bass, produced by theflowerpapi with additional production and vocals by Øbed of SuperJazzClub. Then 2024 saw the release of his debut EP: LIMINAL SPACES, which included his most streamed song from the project “Under The Sun”; which also saw 95 also release a live performance of the track. The project was also featured in CLASH Magazine’s “Astral Realm”.
