Social media has been thrown into mourning following emerging reports alleging that Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has passed away after battling an undisclosed illness at the age of 40.
The reports, which began circulating online on Tuesday, claimed the actor reportedly died at a hospital in Lagos, sparking widespread reactions from fans and entertainment figures across social media.
The development comes months after concerns surrounding the actor’s prolonged absence from social media and public appearances intensified online. Earlier reports in 2025 indicated that close associates had dismissed rumours about his health, insisting he was “fine” and had merely stepped away from the public eye due to what was described as a toxic media environment.
