Award-winning Ghanaian Afrobeats sensation, Kwami Eugene has disclosed that he would have been sick at this time of the year as he is currently in high demand around the globe.
Most people tend to believe it is easy to live life as an artiste but despite the fun and excitement that comes with the job, the Ghanaian Rockstar has proved that it gets weary as well.
In an interview on Y102.5 FM’s “Ryse and Shyne” with NY DJ he shared a glimpse of how eventful his schedule has been in the last couple of months.
He indicated that after his massive performance with KiDi in Italy during a concert, he has had to straddle between London, Nigeria and then back home all within a couple of weeks.
“I was in Italy with Kidi for our show then he came back home and I went to London doing promo for a lot of my features and stuff. I came back to Ghana for just two days and then to Nigeria for four days. I came back to Ghana on Sunday and as soon as I landed I had to sit in another flight to Kumasi because I was running late for Kotoko’s coronation match. It’s been tough for like there weeks now and I don’t even get proper sleep,” he said.
According to the “Bunker” hitmaker, before now, the pressure used to get to him in previous years. However, he admitted that he has been able to cope with everything that comes along in his life as a sought-after artiste.
“It comes with the job. Previously I used to fall sick and I think that was four years ago because of the pressure. The years I released the Angela and the back-back hits I was always hot. The thing is I’ve always been hot every year. You can have a year where you slow down and you know relax but for me it’s different sometimes I deliberately have to slow down and decide not to release any song for like six months. But because people still jam to my music so you don’t slow down for them,” he added.
Kwami Eugene is currently on a media tour as his latest song “Take Away” continues to make waves on the continent. He recently toured Nigeria to connect and establish some music connections and has since met the likes of Falz The Bad Guy and ‘Jennifer’ hit maker Guchi.
