Nigerian singer and songwriter, Joeboy, has recalled the amazing moment he experienced when Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur, made a stunning appearance at the 2018 Afrochella event.
According to him, that moment grew his admiration for the rapper and he can confidently describe himself as a “big fan” of Kwesi Arthur.
Detailing the grand entry by Kwesi Arthur at the Afrochella event, Joeboy told YFM’s Johnny Stone on the ‘Dryve of Your Lyfe’ show: “There was this show Afrochella and that was the first time I heard about Kwesi Arthur. I was with Eazi. So, I am at the backstage and somebody pulls up with a lot of quad bikes with his shirt off. He pulled off with like 12 bikes. I was like who is this guy and they said Kwesi Arthur and I was taken away by his entrance and I told myself I need to check this guy out. I started checking out his music and I said this guy is dope”.
He stated that he further had interactions with Kwesi Arthur which subsequently led to the hit ‘Baajo’.
“He [Kwesi] sent me a message on Instagram informing me that he had a jam for me so he sent me ‘Baajo’ and I jumped on it. I sent him back the song in like less than 24 hours and I told him that when I come to Ghana, we were going to shoot the video and we did. And it is one of the biggest songs in Ghana”, he added.
Late last year Kwesi Arthur unleashed a beautiful song titled ‘Baajo’ and he featured Nigerian singer Joeboy.
