Former President of MUSIGA, Alhaji Sidiku Buari, has advised the government to invest in the art industry because they will definitely make back whatever they invest.

According to him, the Government through the art industry can generate a lot of money to make the country better but they are not making good use of the opportunity.

In an interview with Rev Erskine on Y107.9FM’s Y Leaderboard Series he said, “Government can make a lot of money if they build a lot of theaters. Theaters where people can perform will really generate a lot of money”.

Per his observation, the country owns very few theaters which is quite bad and should be improved on as it is one of the ways to draw money into the country.

He stated that, if he was still a young man, that is the business he would definitely look into because, “if you establish a place where people can perform, you’ll make a lot of money. You will get people coming in to want to organize shows and events there”.

Citing an example he added, “We can even use our stadiums to make money because not only football is played at the stadium. You can get people to rent the stadium and make a lot of money from it. People organize concerts there, churches also come in with their programs and Muslims also come in there basically when people need a large place to take their crowd they’ll definitely come to the stadium and that’s another way the government can make money”.

With so much certainty Alhaji Sidiku Buari noted that, the arts industry is a place that if the government invest money into they will definitely make the money back.

He ended by saying, “I’m very happy because one of us is now in the ministry of the creative arts and I think he can be very helpful because if they put in their money they’ll be surprised the amount they can get back”.
