When you take a look at his song collaborations from ‘Know You’ featuring Simi to ‘Feelings’ featuring Buju and ‘Are You Down’ which features Tiwa Savage, among others, it is obvious that Ladipoe always has the right people on his songs.
Talking to host, Rev. Erskine during an interview on YFM’s Myd-Morning Radio Show, he confessed that he has been blessed with the gift of always knowing who to collaborate with on his songs.
“I’ve been blessed with knowing who to collaborate with and which kind of energies to combine with mine. I’ve been blessed with an ear for great melodies and music. There’s something Mr. Eazi always says that thank God for keeping things running smoothly, and that’s it. You can never call it. You just have to be grateful but be ready”, he said.
Questioned on how he chooses which artiste to collaborate with, he revealed, “These days, it means something to me if we’ve had some kind of interaction before. We don’t have to know each other that well but just some kind of interaction that we’ve already had makes for stronger music”.
In his opinion, that helps both artistes to feel like they’re in a safe environment and they both have a common goal which is to make a hit song because usually, upon meeting someone for the first time, you usually don’t get to see their full energy.
“Also, I want you to love the song as I do because when the song is out, I don’t have to motivate you to push. You should be happy that it’s out and want people to hear it because you like it yourself. To me, all these things matter but the rest is the part the I just can’t put into words. It’s about the feeling and you just go with that”, Ladipoe concluded.
