Ghanaian Highlife singer, Kidi has shared his motivation and the story line to his latest song, ‘Daddy Issues’.

He claims the song which is on his just released album ‘The Golden Boy’ is one of his favorites because he feels most guys can relate to it.

Talking to Kojo Manuel on Y 107.9 FM’s Dryve of Your Lyfe Show, he said, “You know a lot of times, as boys with your girls you’re doing everything right. Showing love, affection and always being there but it’s still not enough because there’s always one thing missing and you keep wondering where it comes from.”

He mentioned that with some people, the trauma starts from childhood and from home and in the song, “the girl’s dad and mum were not around and the family was in a mess so growing up it affected her relationship.”

Kidi stated that this situation is an ongoing issue in our society which people are ignorant of and in his song ‘Daddy Issues’, he was just drawing the attention of people to it.

“A lot of girls and even guys are walking around with daddy and even mummy Issues which is affecting their relationships and everyone they come into contact with. But they are unable to talk about it.”

Sounding a lot more different than the type of music he is known for, the sensational singer expressed that the whole idea of the song is to draw attention to such people through the song.
