Ace broadcaster, MC, Actor and Proprietor of Rabodef radio Academy Tommy Annan-Forson, has shared what inspired him to start his academy.
According to him, a German lady advised him to start it because she believed beyond what he did at GBC, he could also help other people build a career for themselves through his teaching.
Speaking to Rev Erskine on Y 107.9 FM’s YLeaderboard Series he mentioned, “I thought it was brilliant so I decided to open a radio school. And a lot of it was funded by the German government. When we started our first course in January 2004 it was good until we had to, unfortunately, close down because of the lockdown last year”.
The Godfather of radio noted that the main aim of establishing the school was to train and help people who looked up to him and wanted to be like him.
“I also said to myself, if God has given me all this talent and people want to be like me, then let me help them out and I must say, it was a journey of good 15 years until the Covid-19 came in” he shared.
He revealed that he is always filled with joy and feels fulfilled whenever he hears people he has trained speak on the radio.
“There’s a gentleman on Atlantis radio who does the Sunday shows, and when I hear him you can hear that there’s a little bit of Tommy Annan Forson in him it gives me great joy knowing that my school was not a waste of time and money and the fact that God says I have given you this so use it to help people and I did it”.
He believes, he has done what God wants him to do and, “I did it to the best of my ability and it worked”.
