Human Resource Director at Vodafone Ghana, Hannah Ashiokai Akrong, has revealed the company considers its staff a priority.
According to her, they have been recognized as a top employer not just in Ghana but for Africa in the last 4 years, a feat she is proud of.
Talking to Rev. Erskine on Y107.9FM’s YLeaderboard Series, she said, “What I’m most proud of is our focus of putting the employee at the center of everything and every decision we take.”
She mentioned the brand has a robust health, safety and well-being plan. The brand also goes over and beyond to the extent that sometimes their employees think they are doing too much but they believe it’s all for their safety.
“Our goal is zero fatalities and zero injuries; we do a lot of that and make our employees feel very protected and shielded. Sometimes when they leave Vodafone to other places, I always get those calls saying that you guys really cared about us so much and that makes us feel very special,” she said.
Hannah noted that for Vodafone Ghana, the focus has always been on employee wellbeing.
“We’re always thinking about what’s going on worldwide, what our employees are asking for and many others. Now, we’ve put in place a high bridge world policy which really was triggered by Covid 19”.
She also highlighted that Vodafone was going to be a high bridge working organization “so we’re never going back to the office full time.”
The Senior HR Consultant noted that, these and many others are the reasons she loves her duties at Vodafone Ghana.
