Ghanaian musician/ songwriter, Zakia Kunge, has shared insight on her first EP titled ‘Purpose’.
According to the refined singer, the EP highlights all aspects of her journey through life thus far. She captured both her trembling moments and her uprising.
Speaking to Kojo Manuel, host of Y107.9 FM’s ‘Dryve of Your Lyfe’, Zakia indicated that ‘Purpose’ was also about the people’s journey in life.
“Purpose is like the journey of us all. It talks about the dream I had of being a singer, the struggles, challenges and the little victories I have accomplished on my journey so far,” she said.
Zakai went on to describe her first song on Purpose, ‘Body’, as a feeling of a woman’s embrace to listeners. She shares love and a warm hug with people having rough experiences.
“Body is more like sensual, sexy and warm. It is the embrace of a woman. I feel like and when you start listening to the song I want you to feel like I’m hugging you,” she added.
Zakia Kunge’s ‘Purpose’ is a six listed track including ‘Body’, ‘Purpose’, ‘Peace of Mind’, ‘Don’t leave me’, ‘Anasigin’, a poetic interlude as she reflects on life with classic sounds and empowers women in ‘Super Woman’.
