United Kingdom Afro-Hall artiste, GoldKay, has disclosed that Ghanaians are fond of keeping tabs on the hangouts of celebrities.
In an interview on Y107.9FM’s Myd Morning Radio Show with host, LJ, The Ghana-born rapper said Ghanaians do this in a quest to build a relationship with artistes.
“Ghanaians, they like to know that; GoldKay gets his drinks over here, or GoldKay is going to this party, or GoldKay’s mother lives here.” he expounded.
The UK based lyricist made this statement as he unveiled his desire to reconnect with the people of Ghana, indicating that the only way he could do that is if he left the United Kingdom bound for Ghana.
The Afro-dancehall musician intends to organize an EP tour scheduled for 2023 to be hosted in Ghana as an effective initiative for Ghanaians to get to know him. “I am looking to tour my EP in Ghana and make it almost like a free show for the locals; There are a few areas we’ve already had some conversations with like Kasoa, Kanehie and where I was born, Dzorwulu.”
He indicated that this tour is an opportunity to promote his brand and his music on the streets of Ghana which is much better than doing so all the way from the UK.
“I’m also opening it up for an opportunity for me to touch base with the locals, the ones on the street; I find that me being in the UK, even though I feed the system with music, there’s a disconnect between me and the people here on the ground.”
“I feel like me being here is basically being in the hub; It’s better for me to be where it’s happening than to try and feed the system from a distance.” he reiterated.
