Three-time Grammy-nominee and celebrated Ghanaian singer Rocky Dawuni has opened up about his extraordinary holiday experience and the profound scene on the Jamrock Cruise with the Marley Brothers*
In a recent interview on Y 107.9 FM’s Y Lounge with Akosua Hanson, he shared, “Last year was multidimensional with so many highlights. For me, the holiday period was a moment for me to take a step back.”
Dawuni revealed that he chose to spend his holiday in a unique and unforgettable way by joining the Marley brothers on their annual cruise event.
He indicated that he flew to Miami to board the ship, where the Marley brothers host a musical extravaganza, sailing from Miami to Jamaica.
“So it’s like you get a concert every night. Jamaican artistes who can’t get visas to the US do their concerts over the period, and after that, the ship moves back to America. It was an incredible experience, through the ocean, in the middle of nowhere, and just music, music, and music,” Dawuni recounted.
The cruise not only provided a platform for Jamaican artists who face visa restrictions to showcase their talent but also offered Dawuni an immersive and magical musical journey.
He described the experience as being surrounded by the vastness of the ocean, with nothing but the sound of music echoing in the air.
“The ship moved through the ocean, in the middle of nowhere, and it was just music, music, and more music,” Dawuni added.
He further indicated that he decided to take a short break from music and refresh. Fans and music enthusiasts can however look forward to some good music and projects dropping this year from Dawuni’s camp as he announced his return
