Ghanaian rapper and lyricist, Emmanuel Kofi Botwe, identified in showbiz as Kwaw Kesse has revealed the inspiration behind his latest banger ‘Awoyo Sofo’.
In an interview on Y107.9FM’s ‘Dryve Of Your Lyfe’ with host Kojo Manuel, Kwaw Kesse, as one with a first hand experience, indicated that there has been a disturbing influx of misleading religious leaders whom he labeled as ‘false prophets’.
According to the rapper, the term Awoyo, is a typical term that finds its origin in the Central Region.
The award winning artiste recalled an unpleasant altercation he had with an unidentified pastor before a congregation. “I was told by a group of people a few years ago that their pastor had a vision about me so I was supposed go and see him. I don’t believe in such things but I was persuaded by my wife to go and listen to what he had to say.”
The Abodam hitmaker debunked all claims made by the church leader about him(Kwaw Kesse), adding that later enquiries made from his mother showed that these claims were false. “I get to the church and the prophesy was a lie; the pastor said my family from Agona Nyakrom are plotting to end my life. Meanwhile, my family is not from that town.”
This encounter, he labeled as an encounter with an ‘Awoyo Sofo’. The rap track features an impressive set of bars from Kofi Mole, produced and mastered by Songo.
