It’s an election year for MUSIGA and the race to replace Obuor has begun and some members of the organization are filing for positions.
Some of the names that have come up include; Lynx Entertainment’s head honcho; Richie Mensah, current vice President; Bessa Simmons, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley and Appietus.
In an interesting twist, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley who contested in the last two MUSIGA elections has revealed that he might not be contesting this year.
In an interview, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, the highlife musician conceded that even though he might not contest for the presidency, he feels some of the names that have come up are all Obour’s ‘boys’.
He continued by saying that someone like Appietus is not fit for the position as President for MUSIGA. The Simigwa rap legend said;
‘Appietus can’t contest because he’s a studio engineer but not a musician and this is the Musicians Union of Ghana. If it was the Producers Association, then he would have been the perfect fit’.
The MUSIGA election is slated for June 26 this year.
