As Shatta Wale and Beyonce’s ‘Already‘ continue to climb the charts in Ghana, a recent Twitter exchange with Joel Orleans threw the spotlight on Blackway’s feature on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie soundtrack.
Blackway is the son of GH Comedy king, KSM.
When Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was released in 2018, music from the movie soundtrack was released and Ghana’s Blackway was featured on “What’s Up Danger” which currently has over 23 million spins on YouTube.
Joel in a twitter exchange asked; “You did a soundtrack for Spider-Verse?”.
Blackway confirmed saying; “Yeah bro, I’m on the ‘What’s Up Danger’ song… A lot of people dont know though.”
The Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack was released by Republic Records, in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment on Dec. 14, the same day as the nationwide theatrical release of the film.
“Being presented with the opportunity to be a part of this project is probably the coolest thing that has ever happened to me, and ‘What’s up Danger’ is the product of me being able to work with creative minds like Jared Piccone and Troy Hinson of Black Caviar,” Blackway explains to HYPEBEAST about how the record began to develop. “The production behind the record is so intense and full of the perfect kind of energy for the film.”
The animated feature from Phil Lord and Chris Miller united Peter Parker and Miles Morales with several other “spider people” throughout multiple universes.
