Popular Nigerian comedian, actor, movie producer and director, KC Brown has shared some stories of his encounters with SARS and attacks on people close to him.
During a phone interview with Y97.9FM’s Nana Quasi Wusu (PM), on the Dryve of Your Lyfe, he stated that with his work as an actor, producer and director, he is sometimes forced to go home very late from the set and every night, he comes across SARS officers on the road.
He also shared his brother’s experience with the SARS saying, “The last time my brother was caught by some of them and he said he is KC Brown’s brother. The officer just took his phone and googled my name, and a picture of myself and the Commissioner popped up because I did an event for them.
So when he saw the picture of me and the Commissioner of Police of Lagos State, he just told the other one that this one’s brother knows the Commissioner of Police so let’s leave him. Imagine if my brother does not have somebody like me, imagine how they would have harassed him”.
KC went on to share another story of one of the female actresses who was stabbed in the face by these brutal SARS officers. “We call this woman miss Curvy. One day, a policeman stopped her, she came down and the next thing, the policeman was slapping her butt.
She asked him what was the meaning of that and he asked her what her butt is meant for and that is it not to be tapped? She told him not to try it again because it is an insult to her and she slapped him. The man started fighting her so when he saw that the woman was overpowering him, he took out his knife and stabbed the girl in the head. The scar is there till date”, he narrated.
The actor expressed great distress and disappointment about the SARS issue in Nigeria and about how worse it is getting, and hoped that the leaders would take the right measures to ensure that Nigeria goes back to its peaceful state soon.
