The genre that was a hot trend for some time had acts including Stay Jay and many others dropping bangers for music loving souls.
According to Joe Frazier, the genre killed Stay Jay, Atumpan, Nana Boroo and many other careers.
“Look at how Azonto passed and carried several artists along with it. Where is Nana Boroo now and where is Atumpan also. Azonto was a dance and the beats were infectious, even if you sneezed on them, they will be hits because people wanted to dance to the rhythm. But remember that as the dance fades, your career too will fade away. Obrafour is still in the game, Rockstone is still around, Okyeame Kwame and others are still doing music. Where is Stay Jay. A lot of things are not right with the music industry now. I was abroad and heard Wisa showed his penis on stage. He should have banned from doing music.”
