Founded and commissioned on July 4, 2008 as a food court, the Accra mall has over the years become an entertainment ground and a business center that houses fleets of the countries most prestigious businesses.
Today, 1st March 2018 in a short ceremony held at the Accra mall, the brain behind such an outstanding edifice Joseph Owusu – Akyaw was remembered and celebrated with a Monument unveiled in his honor.
Joseph Owusu-Akyaw – the founder of Accra Mall food court who is the visionary may have passed on but many are still benefiting from his legacy, vision and hard work. The late banker was celebrated and remembered in a colorful ceremony and in attendance was Former Prez. Agyekum Kuffour, Rev. Fr. Andrews Campbell among others.
Ex-Prez Kuffour during his speech was full of praises for his late friend Joseph Owusu, he said, “ No man can leave a legacy bigger than this, this is not just a shopping mall, people from all works of life come here for leisure and relaxations off working time, my friend did it all not for the profit but for the impact on our culture and infrastructure growth as a the people.”
The Accra Mall is a shopping center in Accra, Ghana, located on the Spintex road adjacent to the Tema Motorway. The mall was commissioned on July 4, 2008. It is one of the most modern shopping malls in West Africa and the first large-scale shopping centre in Ghana.
