Legendary Dancehall artiste and My Own hitmaker Samini in a series of tweets proposed to law makers in the country to have 70% of local content on our airwaves and again 50-50 share on performance time of any international event on Ghanaian Soil, this was going to help the Ghanaian acts to sell their music to the world.
Renowned actress and philanthropist Juliet Ibrahim in a response to the dancehall act stated that the 50-50 share of performance time will be extremely bad for the Ghanaian entertainment industry and reduce the country’s tourism.
This post came on the back of the recently held CAF awards after it took place at the Accra international Conference Centre and generated several controversies because performances on the night was dominated by Nigerian artistes with only two artiste from Ghana , Kidi and efya. Though Shatta Wale was billed to perform on the night, he could not perform due to communication issues.
