Peace ambassador and Executive Director of Irbard Security Consult, Alhaji Irbard Ibrahim, has expressed optimism that Ghana’s 2020 general election will be more peaceful than the previous election.
He noted that regardless of there being electoral violence in neighbouring countries, Ghana will be an exception come December 7.
“Ghana is different and has both a leader and opposition leader who seek to respect and develop the polical and democratic structure of our country”, he indicated.
Alhaji Irbard Ibrahim confidently mentioned that as a country, “Ghanaians do not want to risk our peace being disrupted because, the youth and the institutions would not want to experience any violence but peace and peace only”.
“This election will be more peaceful than the one we had in 2016”, Alhaji Irbard Ibrahim reiterated at the local Africa Youth Day celebration organized by the National Youth Authority (NYA) on the theme: “A peaceful Ghana: Rhetoric, Realities and the Youth Factor”.
The Security Analyst furthered that just as the Operation Zero casualties was launched in 2016, “I hope nothing happens in the country this year”.
He expressed his joy at being associated with the NYA and their efforts being put in place to promote peace and national development “and not wrecking the nation”.
“We all stand on a common ground and prefer to leave the whole of Ghana in peace rather than leaving her in pieces after the election”.
