Albert Ocran, a motivational speaker, Author and Executive Pastor of the International Central Gospel Church, has shared the vision behind all the inspirational books written by himself and his wife, Mrs Comfort Ocran.
He detailed during an interview with YFM’s Rev. Erskine on the youth inspiring Y-Leaderboard Series that, “We set out to provide an outlet where the thoughts that we were canvassing could be documented for the benefit of young people. It was always about young people.
We did not set out with a business community in mind. It was just about inspiring and challenging young people and providing them with a Ghanaian perspective because most of the time, the books they were reading that had these themes were written by people outside the country”.
According to him, because those books were written by people outside the country, the orientation was not Ghanaian hence, he and his wife sought to provide a Ghanaian context to the themes that they believed were relevant to the youth and emerging leaders.
“Mr. Ocran continued that, “Along the line, as we looked at the impact of the books, we began to think about writing a hundred books and we spoke about it publicly such that it became a discussion.
We’ve done 26 currently but along the line, our minds began to move away from the number of books to the impact of the books”.
He clarified however that they are still bent on writing a hundred books, only that it is no longer a fanciful target to say they did it, but is now more about how much their books have impacted the youth.
