The 2nd edition of the Ghana Beverage Awards (GBA), scheduled to come off Friday, 22nd June, 2018 at the Alisa Hotel, aims at recognizing and celebrating excellence within the Ghana Beverage Industry. The awards will see beverage giants in the country competing in 13 categories based on their performances in certain key areas in the 2017 financial year.
According to the organizing committee and partners led by Global Media Alliance, applications have been received from key players in the beverage industry. The panel of judges comprising representatives from the Food and Beverages Association of Ghana, Food Research Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research and Consumer Protection Agency among others, is at the final stages of the scoring process.
Commenting on the preparations towards the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Global Media Alliance, Mr. Ernest Boateng noted:
“Preparations are far advanced for the organization of the 2nd edition of the Ghana Beverage Awards, the only platform in Ghana where the contributions of beverage Industry players are recognised and rewarded. With the enhanced application including beverage companies’ contributions to corporate social responsibility, environmental friendliness of their operations, employment, tax obligations as well as product quality, we expect a highly competitive edition.”
The Ghana Beverage Awards was first launched in 2016 with the objective of honouring the diligent beverage producers in this country as well as to create a platform for stakeholders in the industry to interact with each other for their collective good.
Beverage giants including Kasapreko Company Limited, Guinness Ghana Brewery Limited, Blow Chem Industries (producers of Bel Aqua Mineral Water), Special Ice Company Limited, Blues Skies Ghana, TT Brothers Company Limited (producers of Uncle T wine), GIHOC Distilleries (producer of Castle Bridge) and Twellium Industrial Company Limited (producers of Rush Energy Drink) participated in the Maiden Edition last year.
The Food and Beverage Association of Ghana (FABAG), Food Research Institute under Centre for Scientific and industrial Research (CSIR), Consumer Protection Agency and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), are the organizing partners of the event.
