First runner-up of the maiden edition of music reality show ‘Mentor’, Odarky Andy, has cleared rumours alleging he was poisoned by other contestants of the singing competition.
According to some media sources, Andy was poisoned because other constants of the competition saw him as a threat and felt they could secure their positions with him out of the race.
Addressing these rumours in an interview on Happy 98.9 FM’s Ayekoo After Drive with DJ Advicer, the musician acknowledged that he was poisoned during the competition but doubts his colleagues in the Mentor house were responsible.
He indicated that he was sent to the hospital during his time with Mentor 1 and it was at the hospital that he was told his food and water had been laced with a slow-acting poison.
“I was told at the hospital that I was poisoned. The person at the hospital told me to be careful of my food and water”.
He added that the contestants visited many clubs and restaurants and admitted that he could have possibly been poisoned at one of many eateries the Mentor house visited.
“I didn’t say I was poisoned in the Mentor house. I am not sure someone in the Mentor house would poison me and even if they’ll do so, I am still alive today”.
Andy defied all odds during the Mentor 1 competition and emerged as first runner up of the competition winning 1,500 cedis, fourteen (14) years ago.
