Chief Executive Officer of Creator GH, Hanson Nartey, has indicated that Ghanaian Architectural Designers are not recognised in Ghana.
According to him, the profession is not popular in Ghana because people lack the understanding and knowledge about it.
The Ghanaian Architectural Designer described Architectural designing as one thing he had desired to do ever since his childhood despite his parents’ disapproval.
“I remember when I was young, my mom used to have a lot of issues with me hiding somewhere drawing and scribbling.”
He disclosed that his mom frowned on any kind of artistic work but preferred he became a doctor.
“I think people do not have any idea of how to become an architectural designer. It’s not too popular in our locality,” he posited as a fact in present day Ghana.
Mr. Nartey highlighted that as an Architect, advising, surveying lands and engaging customers to know what they want is very important.
“You as the land owner should know what you want for me to be able to interpret it in an architectural perspective, which even makes my job easier,” he shared in an interview on Y107.9FM’s Myd Morning Radio Show with Rev. Erskine.
Mr. Nartey further noted that his job as an Architect is inspiring on account of how he gets to see and know more about his environment and the wonderful ideas that it carries.
The keen eye for detail makes him go as far as knowing the lifestyle of the customer to be able to provide them with befitting buildings and blueprints.
