Bisa Kdei, the first Ghanaian artiste to break into the limelight with a movie soundtrack, has revealed why he chose this year, which appears to be the worst for almost everyone, to release his thanksgiving song ‘Hallelujah’.
He said, during an interview on Y97.9FM Takoradi’s Dryve of Your Lyfe with Nana Quasi Wusu, mostly referred to as PM that the song, which he released only about three days ago, was recorded in 2016 and is his second gospel song after ‘Give it to Baba’.
He revealed that he wrote the song as a thanksgiving song to God for how far He had brought him in the music industry but for some reasons, could not release it right around the time it was recorded.
However, after having the remix of his 2018 hit song ‘Asew’ featured in Netflix’s 2020 Christmas movie ‘Jingle Jangle’, he decided there was no better time than now to release that song.
“The funny thing is that I wrote the song back in 2016 when Mansa and Brother Brother flew but due to one or two reasons, I wasn’t able to release it so after the Netflix project, I just thought it was the best time to release this song”, he said.
Bisa Kdei earlier acknowledged that his Hollywood feature is a big win to Ghanaian highlife music and undoubtedly, Ghanaians have been very excited about this feat and have expressed much pride in the singer.
