This International Women’s Day, The Exceptional Ladies Gathering organised by BossUp 100 Foundation hosted a phenomenal event that brought together a powerful force of women for a day of inspiration, connection, and empowerment.
The theme Inspire Inclusion resonated deeply with the attendees, creating an atmosphere of shared experiences and a collective drive to achieve even greater things.
Interacting with the audience, the founder of BossUp 100 foundation, Maxline Chelsy Sey, a broadcast Journalist with Global Media Alliance (YFM Takoradi) indicated the platform will enable networking amongst women to foster growth, inclusiveness for a better society
“It’s time to get together, celebrate our achievements, foster a sense of belonging, empower eachother for personal and societal progress as we celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day”
The maiden event had eight women trailblazers in different industries share their stories to inspire attendees.
The first Speaker, an esteemed broadcast Journalist with over two decades of experience Shirley Ewurama Smith dared women to embrace their uniqueness, develop themselves and not to follow societal norms.
” As women we should have the freedom to choose the path that best suits us, dare to be different and focus on developing yourself”
She also used the opportunity to advise women not to give excuses and deliver their duties when opportunities are given.
The second speaker, Bryony Brookman -Eshun, a public health practitioner with the Ghana Health Service emphasised on the need for women to take their health seriously.
According to her Proactive health care allows women to identify and address potential issues early, leading to better long-term health outcomes. Early detection of conditions like breast cancer or heart disease makes a significant difference.
“Taking charge of your health fosters a sense of control and self-awareness. Understanding your body’s needs allows you to make informed choices about diet, exercise, and lifestyle habits”
This was followed by a series of captivating talks and thought-provoking panel discussion by Wilhelmina A.A Annan-Noonoo, a business professional with over 10 years of experience in Sales and Marketing, Business Development, Customer Service and People Management, Anita Oppong Yeboah, a Disc Joker (DJ), Nina Atuahene Fosu, CEO of Dougina Foods, Priscilla Ama Koufie Priscilla Ama Koufie an Administrative and Shipping Officer, GOIL MGO Terminal Women in Logistcs Africa WILA, Ghana Coordinator, Emilia Anderson, a Visionary Founder of ESA Clothing and the esteemed proprietress of Embel Fashion Institute and Rosaline Djan a Broadcast Journalist and a Diction Coach
The topics covered a diverse range of areas, including leadership strategies, navigating career challenges, achieving work-life balance, fostering female entrepreneurship amongst others.
The energy in the room was palpable as women from various backgrounds and professions connected, shared stories, and offered each other support. The event provided a much-needed platform for women to celebrate their achievements and gain valuable insights to propel them forward in their personal and professional journeys.
The Exceptional Ladies Gathering’s International Women’s Day event served as a potent reminder of the collective power and potential women hold when they come together.
