Zylofon’s in-house music video producer, Abass Abdul Salami has shared why it is important for artistes to create videos for their songs.
According to him, music videos are important and add a special touch to the song from the artistes for listeners.
In an interview with Macall Mensah on Y Entertainment Podium, he said, “As a book is to an author, a music video is to an artiste. As an artiste, you have to know that music videos are very important.”
He noted that mostly artistes or music lovers do not see the essence of music videos when the truth of the matter is that music videos are very valuable.
He however disclosed that, not all music videos are considered valuable but, “the quality of the music video matters. This is because it is a promotional tool for the artiste. They are able to advertise the music and entertain the audience.”
Abass disclosed that there are different types of music videos an artiste can choose from based on the concept they have in mind.
“We have the narrative, quantitive, animation, live performances and many more an artiste can choose from, he explained further.
Talking about some characteristics a quality video should have, he mentioned, “it takes a lot of resources such as, costume, location, gadgets, quality of story behind the music video just to mention a few. This will help you get a good music video.”
The talented creative director was the brain behind the video of Ghanaian sensational songstress, Becca’s “Nana” that got everyone talking. He has also worked with other top artistes in the country, creating for them authentic music videos.
