Tema based Afropop and Afrofusion artiste, Benjamin Arthur, stage named ‘DayOnTheTrack’ has explained what pushed him to do music.
According to him, he has been doing music for about 6 years but was underground and decided to come out last year. He took the decision after realizing it is actually something he really wants to do.
In an interview with Kula on Y 107.9 FM’s ‘Wake n Bake’ he said, “I’ve worked as an engineer and I’ve also worked on a couple of songs with Eddie Khae including his popular ‘Do the dance’ song.”
The upcoming artiste stated that he has other songs with Eddie Khae and he mixed, mastered and co-produced ‘Do the dance’ as well.
DayOnTheTrack noted that for him, doing music was not planned as he was just doing it for fun but as time went on he realized, “There was nothing to do and I could actually do this because I had the talent and could do almost everything else. So I started singing and producing my own songs.”
Talking about his journey into music especially working with Eddie Khae, he emphasized, “My work being a nationwide hit was fun and making the song was fun because Eddie Khae himself is a fun artist.”
He also added that he was taken by surprise as to how far the song went because he did not expect it.
“It was just amazing how people took it as their own and made the song fly,” he indicated.
