Respected Ghanaian media personality, Antoine Mensah has advised persons in the entertainment and creative arts space should look at the bigger picture, and focus on building long term relationships this Christmas season.
He believes creative minds should focus on the domino effects these relationships can have on their careers, rather than one time payment for gigs.
Sharing his views on the topic ‘How Ghanaian Talents Can Win In December’ under the #YHavoc discussion organized on YFM’s twitter spaces, Antoine stated, “I say there is a lot of money to be made this Christmas and because it is money focused, you miss other opportunities that give you the domino effect. It could be a networking opportunity that could give you the next big contract. It can be a network that can get your business for the next five years.”
With December bringing loads of A listers to town, as Ghana has become a holiday destination, he charges Ghanaian creatives “when you’re going clubbing or to an event, make it a point to link up. It shouldn’t always be about cash and even if they can’t really pay you, use the opportunity to link up to a marketer or radio presenter you have been chasing for a while.”
Reiterating the need for networking, Antoine motioned, “keep the networking in mind and that is what you will need long term and fall back on after Christmas is over. Think about how that network can hold you down long term.”
