Somewhere last year it was rumoured that rapper Elorm ‘EL’ Adablah had signed up and coming duo Dope Nation.
It was rumoured that EL splashed a whopping $2.5 Million dollars on getting the signatures of Dope Nation onto VO Nation but in a latest interview with Chelsy Sey on Ryse N Shyne on YFM Takoradi, the VGMA best group nominees debunked that rumour.
According to the ‘Eish’ hitmakers, they were never signed to E.L’s VO Nation but rather associated with the brand as a family.
‘When we left Takoradi to Accra to start our music career, we met E.L and he saw our beat making skills and showed us a few things. We have massive love for EL, so when the opportunity came for us to be around VO Nation we took it but it wasn’t because he had signed us. There was nothing like signing a paper. It is just a family thing. So currently, we are not signed to VO Nation’.
Dope Nation is composed of Micheal Boafo, popularly known as B2, and Tony Boafo, known as Twist. They have 4 nominations in the upcoming VGMA 2019.
