One of Ghana’s recognized pacesetters in the entertainment industry and Programmes Manager of Y107.9FM, Eddy Blay, has revealed why his pidgin hiplife pioneering music group ‘Notorious For Life’ (NFL) AKA ‘Native Funk Lords’ was dissolved.
He revealed that the group did not collapse, however, when their manager and producer, who was the brain behind the pidgin rap died, they lost the whole vibe and the interest died together with him.
This revelation came during an interview with Foster Romanus on the Late Nite Celebrity Show which airs on eTV Ghana.
The entertainment guru continued, “that was when I ventured into media full time. I’ve been with YFM since the get-go and at a certain point, I had to bounce. With the radio and TV thing, it’s very difficult to just be there all the time”.
“Sometimes you just have to try new grounds, break new grounds and do new stuff to explore or expand your horizon”, he added.
Eddy acknowledged that even though he had to leave YFM at a point, coming back has been amazing because the station has unveiled lots of great talents and it has been a great journey, as lots of great presenters have also passed through to help the station attain its current height.
