eTV Ghana, your world of quality entertainment, has moved a step closer to its complete revamp as it has successfully kicked off its widely anticipated ‘Hot 20 Countdown’ musical chart show.
The host of the show, Winston Micheals, eagerly anticipating the fruition of his television dream, made use of the weeks preceding to embark on interviews on all the Global Media Alliance broadcast brands, ie Happy FM, eTV Ghana and across the Y-Triangle to provide all the needed details about the new show.
In his first interview with PM and DJ Edita on Y97.9FM in Takoradi’s Dryve of Your Lyfe, Winston explained that the Hot 20 Countdown which has now been introduced on eTV Ghana is a show specially crafted for people who love music and are always particular about keeping updated on the latest and hottest songs across the world.
“You know that moment when you listen to a song and you imagine how lit the video will be. If you’re that type of person, then this show is for you because you get to see what the audio has brought to life in the form of visuals”, he said.
He also proved in another interview on eTV Ghana’s Late Nite Celebrity Show with Foster Romanus that the Hot 20 Countdown musical chart show is undoubtedly the easiest way to update one’s playlist as it is a compilation of the hottest music videos from all around the world, all compiled for the pleasure and entertainment of viewers and music lovers. Not forgetting to mention his Producer’s diligent effort to compile these songs, not from one but many credible sources to ensure an accurate and well-judged playlist.
Winston Micheals further revealed during an interview with Raymond Nyamador on eTV Ghana’s eSports live that, the show, unlike other musical chart shows, will have various categories like ‘New entrants’ which will consist of songs that entered the top 20 within that week and the ‘Big Drop’ which will include songs that have dropped from their positions over the week.
He added, “We will also have the ‘Stable position’, that is, songs that have maintained their position over the course of the week as well as the ‘Rising pack’ category for songs that have had an increase in the number of searches and streams, and moved higher on the list”.
He did not leave out the ‘Comfortable lead’ category which will be of songs that keep dropping and rising but are still within the top 5, and then the ‘Numero Uno’ category for the one song that has had the most searches and streams for the week.
Programmes Manager for eTV Ghana, Mrs Nosisa Doe, had this to say after the successful maiden edition aired:
