Comfort Ocran, Executive Director of the Springboard Road Show Foundation, has educated on the three important characteristics that any personal brand must have.
In an interview with Eunice Tornyi on the African Women’s Voices show which is aired on e.TV Ghana, she stated, “The first aspect is that you must be clear about who you are. In terms of your values and in terms of your core qualities. What do you bring to the table in terms of your professionalism?”
Mrs. Ocran noted that as a personal brand, it is very important to be clear about what exactly one represents and what they are bringing to the table.
The second characteristic, according to her is brand competence. “How professional are you? For instance, if you’re a makeup artiste and you are called for work, will you be able to do that makeup in about 5-10minutes or will you dilly-dally till it’s almost time for the person to go for the programme before starting to fix the eyelashes? If you do that, you’re not professional, you don’t have the mental, physical, social and even spiritual parts of your personal brand put together”, she said.
Moving on to the final important feature of a personal brand, Comfort Ocran mentioned that every personal brand must have a solid way of communicating the brand excellence or what the brand is giving to the public.
She noted, however, that one can communicate all that they want about their personal brand but if a person’s perception or emotion about the brand is still negative, then the person would need to work on it.
