Ghanaian rapper and member of Asakaa Boys music group, O’ Kenneth has urged Ghanaian music consumers to desist from making comparisons between the members of the Asakaa Boys but rather support them.
Ghanaian social media communities overtime, have generated conversations of comparison between members of Ghanaian Drill genre group, Asaaka Boys which the young rapper termed as unhealthy and unnecessary in an interview on Y107.9FM’s Dryve of Your Lyfe with host, Winston Michaels.
He added that these online debates bring about negative energy which will eventually have an effect on the synergistic nature of their music. “We must pay attention to these kind of things; negative things of this sort will not get us anywhere so it has to stop.”
O’ Kenneth urged Ghanaian music consumers to stop all comparisons being made and focus on the positive impact of the music the Asaaka Boys are making “It’s not healthy; it’s just not worth it just focus on the music and focus on the positive impact of our music.”
The Asaaka Boys music group is made up of nine young talented rappers : O’Kenneth, Jay Bahd, Kawabanga, Cedi City Boy, Reggie, Kwaku DMC, Sean Lifer, Rabby Jones, and Braa Benk, all signed to their self-made label Living Life Records. These Ghanaian talents have introduced the world to an entirely unique type of music. Songs like ‘Agyeiwaa’, ‘Oh Maa Linda’ among others which are written in a mixture of English, the Akan language Twi, and a variety of Ghanaian rhythmic slang.
