Ghanaian stand up comedian, Ajeezay has disclosed that he chased down Funny Face to get a feature on his now popular Jerusalema cover as opposed to popular opinion.
According to the comedian, he tactfully chose Funny Face because of his huge following.
He dispelled rumours claiming Funny Face forced himself onto the song just to revive his ‘dying’ brand in an interview with Happy 98.9 FM’s DJ Advicer, host of the Ayekoo After Drive show.
“I approached Funny Face for the Jerusalema remix. It is my career and I know what I want for myself and I did that. I chose to have him on the song because he is a bigger brand than me”.
Explaining why he chose Funny Face, Ajeezay stated, “I went to him because he has the kids following him massively and when the kids know the song, their parents will automatically know the song too, widening its reach”.
The comedian turned musician noted that Funny Face was able to introduce him to his over 3 million fans on social media in one night and expressed his appreciation.
“I have to thank Funny Face for helping a brother out. He is a blessed individual”.
The Xcess Entertainment signee,
Ajeezay linked up with the children’s president, Funny Face to serve Ghanaians with the remix of Master KG’s ‘Jerasalema’ titled, ‘Jerusalema Soup’.
Entertainment critics and some social media users after the release of the song trolled Funny Face saying he was trying to ride on the growing fame of Ajeezay to resurrect his ‘dying career’.
