The Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC), which umbrellas some of the most outstanding brands in the Ghanaian media space, YFM (Accra, Kumasi & Takoradi), Happy98.9FM and e.TV Ghana has officially set October as the month to celebrate Entrepreneurship.
The month-long celebration which was launched today on the various GMABC platforms [YFM (Accra, Kumasi & Takoradi), Happy98.9FM and e.TV Ghana] forms part of the brand’s themed month series.
In the month of October, GMABC will have incisive discussions on various ways individuals can start, maintain and build their own businesses with or without family support.
Member of the Executive Office of the group, Manasseh Ampofo Kwafo, speaking during the launch of the Entrepreneurship month on the Happy Morning Show with host, Samuel Eshun stated, “We would all agree that you cannot survive and achieve some dreams based on your monthly salary alone. If you do so, the future will be impossible for you. We at GMABC are launching the Entrepreneurship month to educate ourselves on the various ways of starting a business from somewhere and taking it to the next level.”
Manasseh motioned that the themed month series has been integrated into the programming of GMABC such that, the brand’s regular programming will not be affected but rather solidified. “The themed month series is to give our listeners something extra they would not get anywhere”.
To indoctrinate the spirit of Entrepreneurship into the ordinary Ghanaian, GMABC has dedicated each week out of the four, in the month of October to discuss specific areas of entrepreneurship.
In week one, the focus will be on the ‘why’. We will look at the reasons why every individual, especially the youth, should venture into entrepreneurship.
“To mark the month, we will talk to people who have started their own businesses. Myself included will learn all about starting a business, the challenges one encounters and how to overcome them and the general rules to thrive in business”.
He motioned that in the second (2nd) and third (3rd) weeks, listeners will be enlightened on the business starter pack and the financial sourcing for private businesses.
“Most people want to start businesses but do not know exactly how to do so. If you follow the Entrepreneurship month on GMABC, you will be educated on the essentials for startups. We will also take our listeners through the various ways one can source funding for their businesses be it bank loans, angel investors, friends or family.
We always see successful business people driving flashy cars, wearing all the name brands but we never hear of their struggles and that is what will happen in the fourth (4) week. “We will listen to made entrepreneurs share their success stories and the rudiments in business”, Manasseh shared.
He also urged companies who want to participate in the GMABC Entrepreneurship month through one form of sponsorship or the other to contact the team on 0202222095 for further enquiries.
