Ghana’s number one youth and urban station, YFM is set to host youth organizers of the various political parties on a segment dubbed ” Youth Decide” on its morning show; ‘Ryse N Shyne’ across the Y Triangle in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi.
The program which is set to begin on 23rd November, 2020 will feature youth organizers of the various parties in Ghana to build on the youth’s participation in the decision-making processes in the country.
‘Youth Decides’; a concept under YFM’s political power building initiative, ‘Rock with the Vote’ will engage the youth organizers of political parties to share the policies and plans of their political parties for the youth.
pertinent issues of their political parties’ policies for the youth, promote peace and share insights amongst others.
The first edition of the programme is set to host the Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare-Addo.
Director of Broadcasting at Global Media Alliance Broadcasting, Timothy Karikari, commenting on the initiative noted, “Our interest in speaking with the Youth Organizers of the political parties is a deliberate strategy to ensure that, the youth are informed on their choices for election 2020. He noted that the youth demographic is critical and therefore any serious political party should be interested in reaching out to the youth and focusing on their needs. “Ghana’s estimated 30 million population is made of about 57% being youth and therefore an important constituency in deciding who becomes the leader of our great nation. As the nation’s No.1 youth station and present in the 3 big cities, it is our responsibility to ensure the youth;our core listeners are informed ahead of election 2020.
Mr. Karikari encouraged the youth to tune in to all the YFM stations to join in the incisive discussion that will take place.
