Award winning Ghanaian artiste Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy has shared his childhood memories and how growing up in Ashaiman has impacted and influenced his life and career.
According to him and what he remembers, he grew up as one of the very ordinary children in Ashaiman where he attended a couple of government school in community.
Talking more about the community he shared that, “Over there it’s a combination of everything in life. From poverty to riches and every other thing because there are all classes of people living there.
Talking to Rev Erskine on Y 107.9 FM’s Y Leaderboard Series he said, “Some of the most well to do people in Ghana and some of poorest come from Ashaiman and for me, I regard myself as a middle class person because it was not very easy for myself and my family but once you live in Ashaiman you’ll feel it sometimes and you’ll be fine although you don’t have everything you want or yearn for”.
Stonebwoy stated that, leaving in Ashaiman, gave him an opportunity to grow from such a background where, “I think even my kids will not be privileged to enjoy that type of environment”.
He believes that Ashaiman really grew him up and has taught him all the things he knows so far.
