Award winning singer and songwriter, Kuami Eugene, said happiness is the best musical inspiration.
According to him, for a musician to come out with a good song, there is the need for him to be happy.
“You can’t comfort someone when you’re in trouble yourself,” he said.
He noted that every song produced sends a message to the listeners. To him, the song has to be fun for the listener to also have fun whiles listening to it.
Speaking to Winston Micheals and Naa Dzama on Y107.9FM’s ‘Shouts on Y’, Kuami Eugene said, “That’s why people say you can only record in the studio when you’re high, but I don’t believe in that although I understand where they’re coming from.”
Kuami Eugene believes that, every moment not spent worrying is the period he writes happy songs which always sticks with the people.
“I’m a very happy guy and if I’m not fine I don’t go to the studio. I’ll go and play video games to calm my nerves down and wait till I’m in the mood to go to the the studio and record because, I can’t go to the studio to write sorrowful songs for people to listen,” he emphasized.
He mentioned that, the system is already crashing a lot of people so all we need is some happiness.
“This is why when I’m writing, I put myself in the shoes of a regular person in a club who is jamming and just wants to be happy and have fun,” he stated.
