Happy FM Launches Transparency and Accountability Campaign in Sports Fraternity

Happy FM, Ghana’s number one sports station, in collaboration with Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC) on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 launched a campaign to promote transparency and accountability in Sports Administration in Ghana.
The campaign dubbed ‘Promoting Transparency & Accountability in Sports ‘ which translates to  ‘Agokansie Mu Nkontaabuo’ in Twi  was launched during Happy FM’s ‘Anopa Bosuo’ show.
Speaking at the Launch, Isaac Degraft Danquah of Happy FM; popularly known as DJ Advicer, said  the ‘Agokansie Mu Nkontaabuo’ campaign is not intended to “witch-hunt” but rather to demystify the perception that sports administration in Ghana is engulfed with corruption.
“There have been so many reports that have been put out about sports administration in Ghana and this campaign will engage policy makers and stakeholders to ascertain how those documents will be implement,” DJ Advicer  said.
He added that the general public can join the conversation on social media  using the hashtag ‘Nkontaabuo’.
On his part, Abdul-Kudus Husein, Communication Officer at GACC stated that ‘Agokansie Mu Nkontaabuo’ campaign  will ultimately seek to find solutions to some of the problems that  the campaign will identify.
“Unlike other Transparency and Accountability campaigns, GACC together with Happy FM will ensure that we come out with a policy document when this project is completed. We will propose solutions to the findings of this project,” Mr. Husein.
The initial stages of ‘Agokansie Mu Nkontaabuo’ campaign  will run within Accra and Kumasi for a period of one year.
