Happy98.9FM’s sports prodigy, Ayishatu Zakaria Ali has been honoured with the opportunity to moderate the 2nd annual edition of the Africa Day Virtual Pan-Africa Sports Business Conference organized by the Africa Sports Ventures Group (ASVG) on the 24th and 25th of May, 2021 from 4pm to 5:30pm GMT via zoom.
The event, which is being held under the theme ‘Reviving the sports industry in Africa after Covid-19’ will be focused on the topic ‘Challenges in reaching the summit – The evolving influence and power of women in sports’, with Ayishatu speaking to renowned women in sports.
Panellists she will be speaking to include High Commissioner of the Republic of Botswana to the Commonwealth of Australia and patron of the 7th International Women in Sports conference, Her Excellency Dorcas Makgato, Founder and Chairperson of Futballing Girls NPO and Gauteng Women’s Rugby Institute, and 1st Vice-President of the Gauteng Sports Confederation, Moonira Ramathula, Director of South Sudan Women Football and South Sudan Football Association, Jean Sseninde, Executive Producer/President of Women in Sports Association (WISA), Ghana, Gloria Commodore and Executive Director at the National Organization for Women in Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation (NOWSPAR), Dr. Lombe Mwambwa.
Ayishatu Zakaria Ali is a sports journalist who works with the Global Media Alliance broadcast brands Happy 98.9 FM and e.TV Ghana and has been with the brand for close to four years. As a sports journalist, she has contributed immensely to the promotion of women’s football in Ghana so much that she was appointed as the player relations manager (women category) by the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG).
Ayisha continues to promote women’s football through journalism. She has been covering the Ghana premier league and the women’s premier league. She has also moderated several Women in Football events like the special International Women’s Day edition of Happy Sports on Happy FM and represented as a panellist on various sports shows as well. In 2019, she was appointed the Black Queens team media officer for the WAFU Zone B tournament in Ivory Coast. She is also a former Communications Director of Immigration Ladies FC.
