Marketing Manager of Shrinq, a software company in Ghana, Naa Ayele has shared details on how business owners can figure out the right software solution to grow their businesses.
Explaining in simple terms what software solution actually is, she stated that, “It is simply tied to a technology or tool that enables you to perform a particular task”.
Going into details, she explained that, it is simply a series of instructions given to a device to perform a particular task.
Talking to Eunice Tornyi on e.TV Ghana’s African Women’s Voices she said, “Although it is intangible, the result of that code or instruction is usually seen when for instance, I enter a short code and buy credits. The result of that code is me getting the credits for my airtime”.
Naa noted that for one to pick the right software solution, they first of all need to understand what exactly they are looking for.
“You need to identify the problem in your business that you need that solution to fix. After which, you find out what will be convenient for your business”.
She mentioned that all these are important because, there are quite a number of softwares but most of them are just generic and do not really work for any kind of business and if you happen to choose one that does not work specifically for your business, “then what happens is you will end up paying for a service whose function you never really used”.
She went on to add that, once you identify the problem, “do your research and see the one that best fits into your business”.
“You also need to consider if that particular software is going to meet your business needs and your business processes; if it doesn’t, you change it before it gets installed”.
She also added that, it is also important to look for a budget as well because, “you don’t have to go way overboard your budget to get a solution to just one problem so you must get a budget and go according to it”.
She ended by advising business owners to consider their staff throughout the process because, “They also have to be equipped for the system or solution that is coming”.
