Renowned entrepreneurial coach and Executive Director of Kosmos Innovation Centre Benjamin Gyan-Kese believes that Humility is life’s greatest lesson he encountered in the course of his early life.
In an exclusive interview on Y 107.9’s “Y Leaderboard Series” with host Rev Erskine, Mr. Gyan-Kese shared his insights into the successes in life as he emphasized the importance of stepping back, reevaluating one’s circumstances, and making informed decisions.
During the interview, the experienced Ghanaian boss spoke candidly about the value of humility in his personal and professional journey. He acknowledged that despite the misconceptions people may have about successful individuals, he had experienced failure.
He reiterated the significance of learning from these failures and using them as a catalyst for growth. He explained that when faced with obstacles or feeling stuck, it is crucial to retreat momentarily, reassess the situation, and then charge forward with renewed determination.
Reflecting on his own experiences, the executive director shared a powerful analogy as he highlighted the importance of self-motivation during such challenging times, reminding himself that even the fastest car needs to reverse to overcome hurdles and accelerate towards success.
“One of the things that I use to motivate myself is the fact that fastest car, has a reverse gear. Sometimes when you’re stuck you need to go back and zoom ahead if you really believe you’re the fastest,” he said.
As an entrepreneurship coach, Gyan-Kese encourages aspiring entrepreneurs and individuals to embrace humility as a vital virtue. He believes that humility allows individuals to remain open-minded, receptive to feedback, and willing to learn from their mistakes. By cultivating a humble mindset, one can navigate the complexities of the business world with grace and resilience.
