Reigning 3 Music, “ Rapper of the Year”, Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, popularly known as Amerado, has disclosed the fact that he started working on his first album, “ God is Never Asleep (G.I.N.A)”, two years ago.
According to him, growth is all an artiste needs to be successful in the music industry hence, the reason for the release of his latest album, G.I.N.A. He stated , he saw the need to go beyond his comfort zone and challenge himself into doing this to reassure his love to his fans and listeners.
During his interview with LJ on Y107.9 FM’s “Ryse N Shyne” show, Amerado said, “We are here for business not play.” He continued by saying he started thinking about dropping his maiden album and had a discussion with his team who in turn gave him the go ahead to start recording his songs.
“G.I.N.A is my mother’s name,” he hinted when asked how he came about the idea of that acronym. “I got the acronym from a loved one and that made the album title for me,” he added.
His album has songs like “Grace”, “Back to sender”, “Nyame Dada”, “No stress”, “Black change”, “Got you”, “Pay me”, “666”, “Ha ha ha”, and “You are the one” which happens to his favorite collaboration with Epixode. He describes the feature which included a touch of reggae and highlife as giving him the the chance to experience “a different me,” he stated.
His intentions for this album release was to make the world accept him as a musical artiste and not only a rapper, and also reassure his listeners and fans of his love for them. His last words stated “Thank You”.
